Ian Waite, and Vincent Simone Act Two Blog  Theatre

Culture Calendar had a mid week treat at The Atkinson Theatre, Southport.

What was immediately apparent is the unshakable bond of friendship and humour Ian and Vincent share, with Vincent’s very cheeky character shining through from the start.

Ian appeared to play a more sensible part, but it wasn’t long before we learned that keeping a straight face wasn’t in their repertoire, as Vincent forgot his lines.

Ian towered over Vincent, and it was just funny to see what really is a double act at work with Vincent looking up at Ian adoringly – and Ian trying to help him out.

Next? Vincent’s microphone became unstuck from his face, and Ian tried to fix it … a kind of “I give up moment”, but very much “a laugh out loud moment” too 🤣

Ahh … there’s nothing like a live performance, which was said to be kept clean as they spotted two adoring minors in the front row, each waving an artificial white rose.

Seeing Vincent Simone’s Argentine Tango live was something else. Vincent made this performance look effortless, but I guess this is exactly what makes The Ballroom Boys the professionals that they are.

Very impressed that Ian and Vincent took the time to introduce the very accomplished and celebrated dancing and singing talent that accompanied Act Two on the night. Namely, Faye Huddleston and Despina Violari – not forgetting singing sensation Amelia Adams.

The Costumes were everything that you would expect from a “Strictly Final” as they glided around the floor, but it has to be said, The Ballroom Boys are full of mischief, so if you’re a Strictly fan ~ Act Two is definitely for you.
